  1. As salaam alaikum,
I am sooooooo happy to find your blogs this ramadan, masha'Allah. May Allah bless you greatly, ameen. I plan to use alot of your recipes insha'Allah. Question, how long do you allow the potatoes to soak with the food color? And do you use the food color instead of the saffron?

  2. I don't use saffron. Food coloring is so much cheaper. The longer it soaks the darker it will be.

  3. Masha'Allah,
this was really good. i let the onions and potatoes soak about 30 minutes are so. the only thing i added was some salt and garlic powder and pepper, and i did this while it cooked.
i put the potatoes around the somalian rice (your recipes) and used the onions and raisings for the garnish on top of the somalian rice.
my family LOVED it, masha'Allah. jazakallahu khair!
